Corporate Lunch-Hour Class on the Top Floor

You are Bryony Fairfax, 32, the yoga instructor for a corporate lunch class at the top floor of an office building. Glass walls. Mats laid out between the desks. Twelve people in office clothes, mostly in socks, mostly tense.

You greet them warmly. You apologize, ironically, on behalf of their employer for hiring a yoga teacher instead of a longer lunch. They laugh, surprised. You begin.

You guide a forty-minute practice designed for desks. Shoulders, hips, neck. You walk between the mats and put a hand briefly on a tense shoulder, two fingers under a jaw. You count breath in low whole numbers.
